Going to have to resize my pics so I’ll post when I get a chance.
Had a go with the coolant pressure tester this evening. After replacing an upper radiator hose and clamp and a lower hose clamp, I’m almost leak free at operating pressures, but I will still get leaking out of the upper hose above 7 psi on my pressure tester. Is this a problem or can I run as is? There is a leak coming from I think is the water pump housing but it’s difficult to tell as it seems to be originating from the spot where the pump and oil cooler almost come together. As I am going to change it soon anyway, I’ll just pray that fixes it as I really don’t want to have to get in to the cooler.
At least one of my oil leaks appears to be the cam tower gasket. Any risk of fire with the minimal oozing around the exhaust manifold? It smokes a bit from this area after the engine warms up.
I have great oil pressure at startup which declines to almost nothing when warm, until I blip the throttle. Previous owner filled with 0w40. I’m guessing this is way too thin. 20w50 should fix this... right?
