Yea, when my wife decided "we needed" the new flower bed in the front yard to be watered with drip irrigation, I knew it was a challenge to do with my water well. In theory I could put in a pressure tank somewhere that does not freeze, and figure out that mess, or just use city water from our hose connections. That option was a LOT easier, but it does use city water that I get to pay for and not the free water well water.
It was still a pain in the butt to hook it all up. I originally designed the sprinkler system for just areas of grass, but the flower beds overtook many areas. Now I have one section on the sprinkler system that is just not used since the plants can't get wet, just the roots.
