People usually had a cow for milk, chickens for eggs and a pig or two. Ducks and a goose now and then. No goats when I lived there. There were some banjo players. I have my Dad's banjo. He could never play...but wanted to his entire life. No musicians in our family until my son (must have come from wife's side of the family). He is a gifted musician.
