My wife and I are possibly getting back into the Porsche game after some life changes (long crazy story) got us out of the game for a few years.
I need your Honest opinions on two cars that have been offered to us, both have been built and owned by the same highly experienced Porsche owner. Opinions on things like long term value, maintenance, repair costs, visual likeness etc... Both are fully built Street / DE style cars.
Both cars are offered to us at the same price so that doesn’t affect our decision. We are 15 year enthusiast and past DE die hards. I instructed with PCA for 10+ years And my wife can drive like nobody’s business...
First car:
964 Carrera 2 in White - Owner says its an excellent street car, very nice ride quality.
993 Varioram engine rebuilt and tuned, upgraded 6speed trans and differential, PSS 10s, 993 Big red front brakes - 993 C2 rears. Speedline wheels, Recaro SPG seats, MOMO wheel, all new interior carpet, door panels.
Second car:
2002 996 Twin Turbo in Silver - Owner says its a compliant street car, more edgy and stiff than the C2.
Full GMG built Engine with multiple correct upgrades, made 630hp at the tires at 5200 ft elevation. Front diff removed and converted to GT2 specs, Carbon GT2 boys upgrades including rear wing, PSS 10s, Upgraded front calipers, Kenisis wheels, factory GT2 seats.
