Man that 964/993 engine coupe sounds awesome. It's a different car than the 03 Turbo. I have owned 2 996 Turbo S coupes and a 997 Turbo S cab. Those are worlds away from my current love 88 coupe.
To me the two you are considering are apples and oranges....drive them both. They are both modified, highly. Value would not be something I would consider. The air cooled car, to me, is always going to worth more than a 996 modified turbo.
