The AC and heater fan is fixed!
Over the 28 year I have owned the Elky, I have fixed almost everything more than once. I feel certain GM never intended for that design to last 35 years, and go 370,000 miles. The problem was the wiring for the high speed blower draws a lot of amperage and the connections get hot over and over. One connection that they put in was there was was undersized and it melted 25 years ago. It ate a few quick connectors and finally I just made it a soldered together part.
I would put in a relay, but this time it was the factory designed relay that had a partially melted connection. I replaced the relay itself from my inventory of parts I keep, and cleaned up the connection on the harness. I should be good for another 10 years.
What has happened to everyone?
Is the Stijn thread on its final legs?
