That plug in is available in the new Photoshop. I remember you mentioned the name once before. I looked it up, and it is still made. I did not buy it as I don't have many old beat up red slide scans.
The scanner we had at work was 75 grand and really amazing. It is one bit of technology I wish I had access to.
This is a real scan with the frame of film is not some Photoshop frame. Notice how there is zero blooming or glow through the sprocket holes.
Every other scanner I used up to $35,000 scanners had some blooming of the highlights. And that scanner did not interpolate or "res it up" it could do a native scan at over 4,000 PPI.
