Truthfully, when all this first came out, I was eladed!
I have no problems with someone doing something and making money for themselves.
I have no problems with a lady who made an empire out of the home decorating concept.
I DO have a problem when a rich snob tells me that the best way to entertain at my parties is to hand make petitfors, and hang old rolling pins on my wall, and how to line my rose garden with antique bricks. And then actually PRETEND that she does all the labor by herself, when a. there's no dirt under her fingernails, and b. she's got them migrant workers working for her for !.25 an hour!
My wife's a florist, and I have grown to appreciate home decorating. However, Martha's stuff is way over the top! The people that Martha 'caters' to (pun intended) would never do that work themselves! And those who do their own cooking/decorating in their less than $3,000,000 homes cannot afford the time or the $$ for her 'creations.'
Ok, I'll stop ranting now. I feel much, much better.
