Some sockets were custom, the socket pictured is an evolution of the very 1st F1 wheel gun 'smart socket' I designed. It was machined from titanium for lightness, had a built in strain gauge which counted the impacts to illuminate a green light on the gun to let the mechanic know the wheel nut has been tightened
Facom made a bespoke titanium car tool kit for the McLaren F1 but you needed a guy in a van following with a giant torque wrench and spare wheel if you needed to fix a flat

I wonder if any owner ever has even once actually used any of those tools to fix the F1 on the side of the road. I would guess, NO. Cool set that cost almost as much as a new set of Porsche tools for my 85 911.
