While I do agree the 200 series is overpriced, it i a whole different animal than a 4Runner. I currently own an 80 and have owned four 4Runners (currently a 2019 5th gen). Land Cruisers are made to survive the apocalypse, a 4Runner is good, but not that level of good. Having said that, even the 200 series is fragile. The 4WD 24/7 (aka 4WD Action) guys in Australia recently built up a 200 series with the guys from Sparesbox and it promptly broke a CV on the trails. Check out their youtube channel - it's awesome.

To me, Toyota should market the 200 series as a Lexus and then import the 70 series for those of us who really want to use a Land Cruiser as a Land Cruiser... I'd pay good money for a 78 series troopy.
