I had been given Crocs for gifts when they first came out. Immediately went to the 'Donate" pile , no thanks.
But after awhile, being in fish camp, they replaced Keens (PITA), flip flops (too many rocks and stones) and have been my "go to" casual camp shoes and ended up being some of my favorite shoes around the house.
But ya gotta go Realtree/ Camo, and no socks. In fact, I'm fly fishing in Kernville right now, rocking the Crocs....
