It seems we should be happy moderating ourselves
The mods here have come and gone. They very on and in EXTREME measurements.
You dont like someone? Hit the ignore button and before ever done.
Simple.
This is not like the pinnacle of the world's best ideas here, albeit sometimes it is.
There are trolls and paid trolls on every forum. Learn not to feed them, as they make a quarter for responding to each post.
To your point I have always thought locking a thread is silly-what is actually being damaged?
If a person is truly off the rails here (we have had a few) just dismiss them rather then disciplining us all.
Most of us would appreciate it if a Mod did that.
