PNG simply ain't gonna work. Pelican accepts them, but it just throws them into a wormhole or something. So forget PNG. Use photos with a .jpg extension only. And if the file is right from a iPhone or iPad, the odds are good it will be sideways. Once again, Apple along uses their convention of what is up for the photo orientation, and does not care that 99% of the worlds photos are not that format.
For any photo I take on my iPhone the first thing I do is right click on the photo, go to properties, Go to the Details tab, then look at the bottom of the window and look for the blue line "Remove Properties and Personal Information" click that, and it opens yet another window to allow you to remove all information or some. I usually just click the remove following properties, then scroll down and find the GPS title and I select the Latitude, Longitude, and Altitude buttons and and click OK. I do that for any image at my house or a location that I don't want on the internet. If I am out and about I don't care. Then I open t in a photo editing program and reduce the image size to 2,100 pixels wide to make upload faster.
