Angry Trouble with Nardi install

Has anyone out there successfully installed a Nardi steering wheel on an SC? I'm ready to rip my head off in frustration. The hub kit provided came with zero instructions. It looked good to begin with as and the horn wiring from my old wheel seemed to fit perfectly. My problem now multi-fold. The hub won't slide on far enough to (a) look good, and (b) engage the horn contact plate. To make matters worse I pounded the steering column really hard trying to get the hub on, that I shook the car so bad that now it won't start.

I needed a new steering wheel as my current one was broken. I realized during a quick panic stop that the only thing holding the upper left hand part of the steering wheel was the leather covering. I have an absolutely beautiful mahogany Nardi wheel that I can't use on a car that, as of a hour ago, no longer runs. Any helpful suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. Please talk me off the ledge.
