Finally got the correct tailgate bed liner for my truck.

I still don't know what the one they first gave me fits. It has a raised lip on the top side. The two holes for the latch are a tad narrower than the dimensions on my tailgate, which tipped me off right away it wasn't the right one.

Kudos to my vendor who got this resolved for me.
