It appears that by in large, Texans have decided to care fuuk-all about this; two friends went to the Mesquite Rodeo Saturday night (Mesquite is a small town that borders Dallas), sent me pics, and not even the workers and participants were wearing any protective gear, and my brother just sent me a message that Rockwall (15 miles east of Dallas) is holding a concert on the square, and while driving by he could see that it was a packed free-for-all with no protective gear in sight. And all the while, the state, and Dallas County, keep releasing record daily rates of infection and hospitalizations stats (a record set for each last week on Monday and Wednesday).
I guess there are plenty of people that think stats are false, or would simply rather take risks with their health, as well as the health of others, than to be further inconvenienced.
Or maybe that is an example of southern hospitality at work; howdy neighbor, I've got some of the COVID and it looks like you could use some too!
