Well, I remember the conversation with my dad about this whip antenna. My brother and I hitch hiked from home into the town, (now city) where my dad worked. Told him the news about getting a whip (great big spring on the base of the antenna).
We had been to Canadian Tire where we saw these pieces of pure pre teen joy, that any car guy would die for.
My dad, always patient, asked how much? Just $7.95 we said. Well I only make $35.00
per week, so you guys will have to save up if you REALLY want it.
We stayed in town for the day at a park where my dad picked us up at supper time and nothing more was said about the antenna. Too cool for us I guess. Never saved up to get one, but I always knew my dad was where we got the "car guy thing" to this day. He was a Ford man to the end.
I'm going to look at pictures of my '73T was sure it had no antenna, I'll check it out.
