Dexamethasone positive data in RECOVERY trial in UK. Reduced mortality in oxygen receiving and ventilated patients by about 1/3-1/5th. This is a generic drug, a steroid, sometimes used in rheumatoid arthritis. Many other RA drugs (inflammation suppression) are in trials.
I think steroids have been used experimentally in Covid, to suppress cytokines, the issue is when to give. Logically seems like best to give in critical cases rather than mild/early stage and that’s what the trial seems to be suggesting.
