The skunk trapper came back today after we told him the trap was sprung. For some reason we did not want to check real close. He showed up and used a grabber like snake guys use to grab a snake to capture one of the kits. He is pretty sure moma is in the trap this time, so He dropped the kit in a 5 gallon bucket, put down the grabber, opened the bucket and picked up the kit by the tail, and dropped the kit in the trap with mom. I observed from 20 feet away upwind. No sprays. He loaded the to in the trap into his truck trap and all. We then looked up into the hole with my endoscope and did not see anymore kits, but he set two traps to see if we get anything more. If after a few days no more skunks, we fill the hole with concrete.
I guess two live skunks are a pretty good theft deterrent for his truck.
