Friend of a friend new some people who were leaving state and couldn’t take their dog with them. He asked if I wanted another heeler. Later found the reason they gave her up was that Rexy snapped at children. Really scary first year. Bunch of times I thought I was going to get sued. Eventually she became a good girl. Don’t know how much of it was my training and how much was her just getting old.
A family down the block had two adopted kids with Down’s syndrome. Rexy adored them and would roll over for belly rubs. She was a mean snarley old ***** of a dog. But we loved her. Passed in her sleep at 14.
