Dipstick tube debacle
Hey, doing the long-awaited FOES on my 1989 951, including the oil pump sleeve and seal. Just buttoning up everything, and thought I'd tackle the stubborn dipstick problem I encountered when I removed the intake manifold to replace the vacuum hoses a few years ago. Previously, the dipstick removal was like factory, however, once I put it back, I have to twist it and sorta force it out, and in.
I bought a new spacer and o-ring, so I thought I'd remove it completely to solve a small oil leak. When I installed the tube back in the day, I attached it to the front of the aluminum tab and am wondering if it should be on the back of the tab?
Also, can you successfully remove that bolt holding it to the manifold while the manifold is still in place? Thanks!
