Our first lab had found someone's deer head during deer season. We assume it fell out of a truck and she didn't run off and steal it, but anyway. She has this head and wants to bury it for later so she is out in the cornfield and there is a bald eagle that thinks it should have it instead of her. She, of course being a bird dog, was having none of it and the two went at it for several minutes. Fortunately neither one had too much damage. It was more like the first round of a pro boxing match and not the first of a 3 round amateur match. We did not want to mess with that bird and figured one of them would have enough sense to back off, but the dog was called and yelled at a lot. The bird is the one that eventually gave up. Stupid dog.
