Wow, that track pic with speeds really brought up a LOT of memories of my muchly tuned and balanced 944TurboS. Dynoed it on a portable dyno that was at the event. It did 280rwhp. Was on Yokohama track rain tires, suspension upgraded, lowered, and cornerbalanced. The fastest car I've driven from 60 to 140. It wouid just walk off and leave most other cars at those speeds.
Had to really work to keep from braking too much into the first turn to get the speed from 60 to 80. Would think I did a lot better, glance at the speedo in the apex and was only doing 60. The car would do 80, had to learn to brake later and not slow as much.
Also remember too well braking down from 140 and the pedal just going thump into the 2nd corner marked 37.7. That is where I did the scandanavian flick and slid the car sideways into and dirt tracked it around the turn.
Drivers in my session would not wave me around even though I was right behind them after the first turn. So I early apexed the turn marked 35.8 exit on the inside of the turn and pass them on the rigt powering up that hill marked 81.7. They would always exit to the outside of that turn leaving me plenty of room to go by before they could manage to move to the inside lane.
There was only one guy, Ron Forstall that we kept passing back and forth. He was in a silver RUF. He pitted and change tires a couple of times. After the session he came over and asked about my car. He was happy it was tuned and tweaked and not a regular 944Turbo. Later learned he was known for being really fast at Hallett.
