Jeez, you do know many of us live in big cities. This kimda siht happens in big cities all the time especially today where they know the cops wouldn't do anything.
I have seen people drive real close to parked cars and reach for the handle in wee hours of the day.
One time, everything single car was broken into on ond side of the street. They stolen a bunch of little stuff. No car alarm were sounded, no broken glass. They must have some kinds of device to unlock the doors. My neighbor's brand new BMW's dash was torn apart only to have all his change taken and seats slashed. All our extra baby clothes and camera were taken along with the change. I guess the thieves didn't like rich people with BMWs?
