Sucks. Gremlins used to steal tools out of the back of my truck at night. I never left it unlocked and they never broke in but it happened more than once. I'd get home from a job after dark and it was full of stuff from the day's work. I figured it would be ok in the driveway overnight but I was wrong.

When we moved we installed an outer fence and gated entry. We also have big black dogs, motion sensor lights, and motion sensor cameras. I still leave my work truck in the driveway but no one has touched it in 15 years. The night grems did rifle the mailbox a few times so that was secured as well. Higher levels of security are required these days it seems. Cops can't be bothered with petty theft when we leave stuff out.
