Reminds me of a good story form the early 2000's...
We had an odd older single gentleman that lived up the court from us (not many houses on it). He seemed like a decent guy, had a few Corvettes of various years and was pleasant to talk too.
A couple that are good friends lived directly across the street from us and the wife drove a Dodge Durango. One day she got in it and there was an older Saab key stuck in the ignition, nothing broken, stolen or gone through, just the key. Weird, we joked about it and didn't think much of it.
Turns out she had a disposable camera in the Durango there for fishing (big fly fishers) and a few months later got it processed (can you even do that anymore?)... Anyways when she got the pictures there were a number of penis pictures from various angles in the front seat of the car. Touching the steering wheel, you name it. As you can imagine she was not pleased as she had been driving it. The rest of us got a pretty good laugh about it.
Fast forward a few years and there is a flat bed tow truck outside the older guys house with an old Saab sitting on it. Turns out the old guy stored it some where else and had lost the key.......
My neighbor had a polite conversation with the guy who immediately put his house on the market and moved away.
Since that day I have always made sure to lock everything and have taught my kids the same thing.
