It’s just more fuel. Smoke is incomplete combustion. The tuner can increase pulse width at any point. Typically tunes cost the same no matter what you want them to do. I have roughly 10 different tunes from over the years but only go between 2. My tow tune which has tighter shifts and pulled fuel. My everyday which is a hot race tune. This actually gives me the best mileage and smiles. Whenever my dad drives my truck, he loves the coal “button”.
