As a cyclist, I'm opposed to rolling coal but as a car guy I do like the extra power. I have few friends with de-smogged trucks and they do seem to run better.
Yesterday I was next to a relatively new Dodge pickup, jacked up a little with bigger wheels and tires. The usual big truck set up. The light turned yellow so I hit the brakes on my Cayman while he hit the gas. I must say I was impressed! Sure there was a lot of black smoke but there was also 4 tires clawing for traction and truck squirming to stay straight as it rocketed through the light.
