I bought my 240z in Freshmen year of college from Hickman Datsun in metro ATL. I paid right at $4k for it in 1980. Owned it for about 8 years or so - drove it across country (ATL to PHX) to my first engineering job with Motorola after graduating GaTech with my EE. We moved to Dallas TX about 2 years later after I took a different job at Texas Instruments. About 6 years or so later, after the 240z had been a third vehicle and relegated to the driveway and not garaged, the paint was suffering. I sold it for $1600 to reimburse myself for the purchase of an 8Mhz IBM PC Clone - with all of 512k ram and dual floppy with an amber monochrome monitor.
