My first handgun was a 4" 686. Fluted cylinder. Loved that one, never should have sold it. With the full-length ejector shroud it pointed naturally and took full .357 loads easily.
L frames are a little big for my hands though; I replaced the square butt walnut grips with a Hogue Monogrip (as in your photo). Totally changed the ergonomics for me -- went from pretty good to OMG awesome.
