Very true. When my family went through Yellowstone in the mid '50s in my dad's new Oldsmobile, bears would sit aside the highway and people would stop & feed them. We got to a line of stopped cars where people were feeding the bear/bears at the front. As we sat, a bear came out of the trees & looked at our car. My dad said, "You'd better not come over here & scratch my car." The bear must have thought he said, "Come over here & I'll give you a PB&J sandwich." It ambled across the road and stood up on it's hind legs and came toward my dad's window. When it got within a foot or two my dad said, "I told you not to come over here.", and punched it in the nose. The bear let out a cry, ran back over to the other side of the road & looked back at my dad as if had experienced the ultimate betrayal.
