Gordon... Once leather fibers loose their natural adhesion to each other, no oil or cream is going to restore that adhesion. As you know, adding a liquid (or cream) makes matters worse by helping the fibers detach from one another. A way to prevent cracks from probagating is to gel epoxy a leather patch on that's longer than the existing crack. Patching doesn't look good but then neither does a cracking seat.
