I love vintage Klipsch. My home theater/2 channel setup uses vintage Cornwalls for my mains and Heresys for my center and surrounds. I also have a dedicated 2 ch system using another pair of Heresys in a smaller man room. If you get the Cornwalls off the floor a bit, the bass improves.
As has been said, the musical use and size of the Room is key. I've never liked LaScalas except in a HUGE soundstage. Thats when that big a$$ed horn shines. They are deeper than my Corns and if I tried to use them, my wife would kill me. They take up a lot of space. Im on the edge with my Cornwalls as it is.
Some guys fabricate "psuedo" corners behind KHorns if the layout doesn't provide them and it helps some. Personally I think the Belles are the best of both worlds. A really elegant looking speaker too. For something taking up that kind of space, it should be pleasing to look at. Wish I had the room for a set of Belles, sigh,,,,
