Quite simply put, it is foolish to state/demand that "masks work!" as a solution to this virus/pandemic. Saying such a thing equivocates on the effectiveness of said masks. (as if there are no differences in mask effectiveness...
a mask is a mask - not true)
Now if one wants to put a qualifier on "masks work!"... say;
masks work to keep me from picking my nose and licking door-knobs... then great, you say that. But, even as the 2 quoted above say, even hospital grade PPE doesn't ensure the wearer will be containment free.
Anyway, referring to people, who
make distinctions and
understand the relative effectiveness of PPE, as
machete swinging, anti-maskers, raped by masks 
simply outs your emotional stupor.
