Come clean Island. Surely you are just yanking our chain and don't actually believe the scheit you post.
**Countries who acted quickly, had consistent leadership working together, demonstrated universal acceptance of social distancing and masks in public:
Taiwan- 451 total cases, 7 deaths (0.3/M)
Hong Kong- 1500 cases, 9 deaths (1/M)
Singapore- 46,000 cases, 27 deaths (5/M)
S. Korea- 13,000 cases, 289 deaths (6/M)
Finland- 7200 cases, zero deaths (0/M)
Japan- 22,000 cases, 982 deaths (8/M)
There are many others but these were exposed roughly at the same time as the US.
In the US we had mixed messages from federal, state, local, and CDC leadership, we were poorly prepared with PPE, and testing had a rough start. Lots of civil disobedience regarding social distancing from both the hard Left protesters and the hard Right, and mask wearing became a political punching bag.
USA- 3.5M cases, 139,000 dead (421/M, 1600/M in NY), and a widespread current surge.
The results speak for themselves. Universal acceptance of social distancing and masks in public are not the only solution or even the best solution, but a big piece of the solution in the battle against a virus that we still know very little about. An absence of teamwork and consistent leadership is the best way to get your azz kicked and we are the poster child for this right now. We in this country have accomplished some pretty amazing things when we pulled together including the entry into WWII and the moon landing in 69. I expect 2020 will go down in history as a time we were too busy bickering and name calling to come together and attack the problem as a nation. An opportunity missed.
