Wow, what long day.
The boss's wife rousted me out of bed at 6:30 so we could shower and get to Sam's for a early morning fruit run, and that went just like clockwork. Then I made the part run mentioned in the post 153789 above.
Then I waited for a little while to go get a haircut that Mrs. Carrera said was not to be put off under penalty of (undesclosed) so I for sure got the haircut at 11:00 AM.
It had been overcast all morning, and when the very light breeze blew it actually felt comfortable outside. So I had a change of plans, I "got" to mow and edge the yard. Oh joy. It was not blazing hot, and that opportunity was not to be missed.
Then I finally got back to my 911. Day three, the muffler gasket is in hand. I can attest that is is chore for an old fat guy to bench press the muffler up into position with one hand, and try to get the three bolts on, and not have the gasket drop out. I finally got the top bolt in place and I could get the muffler to stay in position resting on the little crease on the bracket. Then getting the two muffler mounting bands around the muffler, and around the bracket support and tightened up was a just not working.
I looked at the heat exchanger blend tube that takes the fan next to the cruise control and blows air into the heat exchangers. So now I get to get a welder to tig weld up the stainless steel bracket. It might stay in place for a while, but one way or the other, it needs to be fixed. Might as well do it while I am in there.
That part that is cracked goes under the band that goes around the muffler. It has to be strong. Maybe tomorrow!
