Short story is, you have to drill 4 holes in your frame, and drill out two rivets that attach a mounting bracket to the cross frame of the non swing window so you can re-use it

(Edit: the benefit of this is you get to keep your aluminum frames. 65-67 were made of brass, and 68 was a one year only aluminum vent window for the coupe, so if you can find those then you’re golden. I originally planned to just have my brass ones blasted and powder coated. But the mounting holes didn’t line up perfectly, and I didn’t want to modify my door. It’s very close but I wasn’t satisfied with the fit. I feel like this is a great alternative. I’ll probably just vinyl wrap what very little chrome I have seeing as it is minor). |
Very interesting. I attempted the same this past spring but I could never get the vent window to shut. I tried two rubber seal suppliers since I thought that might be the problem, but no go.
I gave up as I wanted to drive the car and not be messing with it.
I hope to have another go at it next down season and I think a write up from you would be very helpful, so thank you in advance.
BTW, I was told the chrome portion gave the car a bit of a hot rod look. Go figure.
