This is extremely common on 996 and some 997. On the 996, there was also a dash carbon piece which is usually always trashed. The only people I have seen that are able to get this somewhat decent is a carbon fiber repair shop. The old clear lacquer is also yellowed. My 997.2 also has some carbon lifting.
