If you’re comfortable with the Chinese government knowing everything about your kids and sharing it with whomever they want, have at it.
My kids have devices (son is getting to the age where he wants more autonomy over what he uses it for, daughter is still young enough where she doesn’t really care). My rule is simple - you use devices and apps approved by me and in a way approved by me, or you don’t have a device. When you turn 18 you can do what you want but until then it’s my way or the highway as far as that goes.
That said, I give them some latitude but there’s no way I’d ever allow TikTok. No way.
Not allowed on any devices connected to my work WiFi either (been policy for a couple of months). We do a lot of gov. stuff and apparently our IT folks thought it was enough of a potential risk where it wasn’t worth it. So you delete it or don’t connect your personal phones to the WiFi. Those are your choices.
