I'd prefer a separate camera if that was ever an issue.
-When the time comes to upgrade. just get a new one and plug it in.
-If you don't want a camera at all, just unplug it.
Monitor speakers are sub-par generally. Probably true for cameras as well.
But hey, if it works it works..
