Most of the beer that I drink is a Stout of some sort. Many years ago, as a young man, a buddy brought over some Guinness Extra Stout. We all thought it was horrible, strong, bitter and just bad. I remember thinking that it was so bitter that it reminded me of the stuff that you sometimes had in the wrinkles of a pecan from the inside of a pecan shell.
Now the Stouts that I drink make Guinness Extra Stout seem like a light beer. Honestly, the missus and I both comment on how light and refreshing it seems when we have it.
I don't drink a lot of lighter colored beers, but last summer I had some of this stuff.
