Reno Rennsport. I have known co-owner Mat for about 25 years. Watched his children grow up. He built my car and builds my engines.

Right around the time I met him, he diagnosed a major issue I was having with one of my Porsches over the phone. He had seen the issue just one time before-- a few years earlier and he remembered. I posted what I learned on some internet forums that day and fixed 3-4 more cars.

Here is a grid photo from Sears Point... all cars built by Mat. He is in #1, and I am in #3. We finished in that order.

Mat is a long term PCA member. Worked at Garettson's with Bruce Anderson and Jerry Woods. Through Mat I met John, one of the co-owners. Great guy. Saved my backside more than a few times at racing events.

Mat raced in IMSA. He was also active in SCCA, PCA Club Racing and an integral part of the Porsche Racing Club. Reno Rennsport (along with Guard Transmssion-- another awesome Porsche business run by an accomplished, expert and experienced person) were long time sponsors and supporters of the Porsche racing Club.

Mat's son and co-owner is Brian and he is an accomplished racing driver as well.

RR co-developed the AT Power induction set up for NA air-cooleds. Pretty sure Winders is using the to great effect.

Mat has worked on plenty of turbo cars, including 935's. I raced against him in a couple of different turbo cars... both less than 2000 pounds with 3.8 liter TT engines. Well, I did not exactly race against him... I could see him at the start. And often arrived in the paddock not too long after him.

He/they know all of the cars well.

I give RR a 15 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Feel free to PM for more perspective.
