The G17L barrel is longer than the G34/G35 barrels, but (IIRC) about half an inch. The G34/35 were developed because the G17 wouldn’t fit in the “box” used to classify guns in some competitive shooting sports. The G34/35 juuuuust barely fit, and that’s why they have the rounded front end on the slide. The G17L has become an uncommon Glock model, no longer regularly produced, and fewer hop-up parts are available for it. So that’s an argument against the G17L.
