The other Colt big boy is the Colt Walker circa 1847..which established Colt as a viable mfg.. One sold at James Julias auction on the day in 08 the DOW was down 1000 pts for 975K.
Rock Island auction has gotten 1.7M for one a couple of years back and has gotten around 1M for another in the past year or so. .
I was at the Little Johns auction back in the late 90's where Henry Rifle SN 6 went for 675K plus buyers premium of 15%..which was a record at the time for a Winchester. It was a presentation to Lincolns Sec of the Navy. SN 1 was given to Lincoln and is in the Smithsonian. So #6 is about as good as you can do...I was told by John that it sold to a Billionaire who was collecting the best of the best available.
