That makes perfect sense.
Tell them your consulting company has a flat rate for those services. It only cost a hundred bucks to start an LLC with the state, and getting a EIN from the IRS is free. Bang, you are in business. The business has to file a tax return, but that is not hard. Keep accurate records of every transaction, and you can deduct any costs to the business on the taxes. If you do more than a few transactions, use a bookkeeping program.
Write invoices, and open an free bank account somewhere. A business has to use a bank, not a credit union. Get a debit card for the business, so you can purchase items online.
We got audited our first year in business, so it can happen. I had every receipt and invoice printed out to give to the auditor.
