Have a front porch and outdoor lights on either side of the garage that are dusk to dawn. The blubs are some kind of two prong LED thing, not screw in but otherwise look like regular bulbs. One of the garage blubs burnt out, I just received the new bulb today. Looked and it is dusk, but still a little light out. The porch light has come on, but not the garage lights, yet. There seems to be no way to test them since there is still light enough they don't come on yet.

I've looked at replacing the switches with timered wall switches so they would go off at midnight and come back on at 7am. That would work so they only came on from dusk to midnight and 6am to dawn (winter). So they wouldn't be using elecricity from midnight to 6am. BUT since they are led bulbs it would take almost 5 years to save enough money to pay for the timer based switches.
