Even this old dullard has pondered time. Cruising the Southern Turkish coast with Stan, we took a Dory trip up the Dalyan (sp?) river to visit an archeological dig, viewing massive tombs carved from a rock hillside thousands of years ago. At the dig itself, it was explained to us that 3 civilizations were being dug,,,the top layer was Roman.
Here in the USA we tend to think only of the here and now. Others think differently. Like: "Things were tough when Alexander the Great took over, but improved under Roman rule." Istanbul was a trading port before man could write...the waters of the Bosphorus have seen most of the history of man.
Tabs made a point...political conventions are like High School politics. In the history of man, the USA experiment has taken the time of a knat's fart. Then when pondering all time, the history of man is but the life of a fruit fly.
Ahhh, but all we have is one trip...reality.
