Awful. I came very close to losing my son when he was three. That was horrific enough sitting in the hospital alone for days not knowing what was really happening and expecting to be the only one that’d walk out. Thankfully a very good doctor figured things out and was able to get a surgery scheduled for him in time and he pulled through fine. There isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not grateful (1) that I had insurance coverage and (2) for that doctor’s training and skills.
To the parents that haven’t been so fortunate in similar situations... my heart absolutely breaks for them.
