The Amish and Mennonites here are amazing business people. Amazing.
They collectively know how to scale farms to meet demands. I also helped them put together the local produce auction, a huge weekly success. They are a true, functioning collective that invests in their community.
I am very good friends with one of the leading Mennonites in my part of Maryland. He owns the local feed and tack shop and has, count'em, over 50 grandchildren. He can afford it, btw...he also owns a nursery that is packed with cars from DC.
We just get along, laugh and giggle every time I pay him by check
