We have the Audi variant. Q7 TDI from 2014.
Right around 90k on the odometer now.
We bought new, and used Audi for maintenance through 45k miles.
Part of dieselgate, and we received the initial payment, a Bosch payment, and then the ‘big’ payout for having it converted to the new software and hardware mods.
It’s been a pretty good vehicle, and maintenance has been reasonable.
I did brakes at <30k miles (we lived in ATL and traffic....)
Did that myself for $600 in parts (F&R pads, rotors, sensors) from Pelican.
Dealer quoted nearly $2k to do the job.
We are on 3rd set of tires and they will get changed out before the snow flies - so yes, they do eat tires. Might have something to do with wife driving it like it’s a nearly 6000# Honda Civic. Physics, and all....
I just completed a change-out of transmission fluid, F&R Diff oil and transfer case oil. Along with an oil change, materials cost me $500. Wife says she can tell that it drives smoother / shifts smoother.
There are occasional things to address:
Drivers’ power window button went flaky about 2 months ago. Replaced it with one that I found online for $40 and about 2 hours worth of dissecting the drivers’ interior door panel.
A/C blower (under the glove box) started flaking out - so I bought a new Sebro unit online (may have been Pelican - don’t recall, to be honest). That took 30 minutes to replace while standing on my head to see/reach it.
We had one period of time that it was throwing a code related to the DPF - and I think Audi ended up re-flashing with a newer version. That was 20k+ miles ago, and I think they have it fixed.
Not entirely thrilled with the Nav system. Audio is fine, but the GPS - frankly - sucks. I think 2014 vintage compared to today is a big difference, regardless of manufacturer.

The torque is great (my wife really likes to put her foot into it), and mileage has been really good (typically mid to high 20’s - with 30mpg attainable on the highway).

I’d like to get my hands on a Q5 with the TDI. I think that (smaller, lighter vehicle) would be a really nice driver.

That’s my $0.02 for today.
